The Main electric panel is located in the laundry room. It was replaced in 2025, and an exterior shutoff was added at that time.
In 2026, a new sub-panel was added in the furnace room, replacing an older model, with breakers for the water heater, heat pump, furnace and deep well. Additionally, it feeds the exterior breaker box which will serve as the connection for the hot tub, when it is replaced.
The electric cable between the main panel and the furnace room sub-panel runs behind the drywall on the exterior wall of the entryway and laundry room, approximately 2-3" from the top, and no more than 1" below the drywall surface. Although it is protected by metal butt plates, care should be taken not to penetrate the wall from 2" below the ceiling to 4" below the ceiling. Near the right end of that wall, the cable turns down briefly and travels through a recess into the furnace room.
