HoldingTanks

Waste water empties into four connected 1500 gallon holding tanks, located in the south yard.

These are HOLDING tanks, so they must be pumped out periodically. The tank alarm is located in the southwest corner of the garage, next to the garage door rail. When tank alarm goes off at about 65% full (we estimate) so there is still some time before pumping is required.

The tank risers, lids, vent pipes and internal alarm floats were replaced in 2024.

The city will send mandatory pumping letters to the residence every three years, even though they have been notified multiple times that the tanks are pumped at least annually, and often twice annually. They seem to have no provision to stop these letters from being sent. When the letter is received, call the department and remind them that these are holding tanks, and no further enforcement action will be taken for the next three years.
